Visual Comfort Modern (formerly Tech Lighting) Bau Pendant
Bau is Sean Lavin's nod to the Bauhaus — four stamped metal fins arranged around a central axis, each housing an integrated LED that throws light back across the fixture's own surface. The result is indirect: you see the finish glowing rather than a light source, and the room fills with soft reflected light instead of a hot spot.
Three sizes cover a full range of rooms. The 18" suits an island end, a breakfast nook, a stairwell, or a pair flanking a bed (42.1W, 686 lumens). The 28" is the workhorse size — correct over a six- to eight-seat table, a large island, or a mid-size entry (74W, 1,924 lumens). The 36" is the largest of the family, an architectural statement for a double-height entry, a long dining table, or a stairwell seen from two levels (84.5W, 2,886 lumens). All three deliver 90 CRI at 3000K, dim on ELV controls, and ship with 180" of field-adjustable wire.
Two finishes at every size: Nightshade Black (700TDBAU18B / 700TDBAU28B / 700TDBAU36B) and Hand Rubbed Antique Brass (700TDBAU18NB / 700TDBAU28NB / 700TDBAU36NB). The brass is a living finish that will patina and warm over time. Because the fins graze light across themselves, the finish choice changes the character of the light noticeably — brass reads warm and golden, black reads tight and graphic.
