Visual Comfort Modern (formerly Tech Lighting) Dessau 38 Floor Lamp

Sean Lavin's Dessau floor lamp is a modernised pharmacy lamp — two linear members meeting at a clean 90° angle, with a slim recessed LED panel in the horizontal arm. It reads as a drawn line rather than a piece of furniture, which is what makes it work beside a low sofa or a reading chair where a traditional shaded lamp would feel bulky.

The head sits 38" high and reaches 14" out, so the light lands on a book rather than in your eyes. Control is by an integrated 3-step touch dimmer on the fixture itself — no floor switch to hunt for, no wall dimmer required. 10.4W, 462 lumens at a warm 2700K with 90 CRI.

Three finishes: Nightshade Black (700PRTDES38B-LED927), Polished Nickel (700PRTDES38N-LED927) and Hand Rubbed Antique Brass (700PRTDES38NB-LED927). The brass is a living finish and will patina with handling — appropriate for a lamp you touch to switch on.

A taller 46" version (700PRTDES46) is available, and Dessau extends to picture lights, table lamps and a linear suspension.
