Sean Lavin's Aerial is a 50" ring carried on symmetrically spaced arched rods, each supporting a slim cylindrical head. The cylinders throw light both up and down — ambient wash off the ceiling, usable task light below — while completely hiding the LED sources from view. Nothing glares, and there is no bulb to look at.

At this diameter it is a room-anchoring fixture: a large dining table, a two-storey entry, an open stair. The adjustable drop runs from 20" to 74" with 72" of supplied wire, so it hangs correctly over a standard 8-foot ceiling or a tall vaulted one without extra parts.

Model 700ARL55B-LED930 in Matte Black. The 47.2W integrated LED produces 2,999 lumens at 3000K with 90 CRI, dims on ELV and TRIAC controls, and is rated past 50,000 hours — effectively no relamping. Damp rated, so a covered porch or a bathroom with height is fair game. There is a smaller 40" version, model 700ARL40B-LED930, if the scale is too much.
