Visual Comfort Modern (formerly Tech Lighting) Dessau Picture Light
The Dessau Picture Light by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort Modern (formerly Tech Lighting) is the American Modern answer to the traditional picture light — the same job, done with clean straight lines and an integrated LED rather than a brass tube and a candelabra bulb. Every size shares the same 8.6" wall projection, and that projection is the whole design: it throws light down the face of the artwork instead of glaring straight back at the viewer, which is the usual failure mode of a picture light mounted too close to the wall.
Dessau spans five widths built from the same arm and shade — 8" (700DES8), 12" (700DES12), 18" (700DES18), 24" (700DES24) and 36" (700DES36) — so a single small frame, a large canvas, or a wide gallery wall can each get a Dessau sized to it, in the same finish. All run a 3000K integrated LED at 90 CRI, so pigments in the artwork read true instead of going flat and grey the way they do under cheap LED, and all dim smoothly on standard ELV and TRIAC controls.
Four finishes are offered across every size: Nightshade Black, Polished Nickel, Hand Rubbed Antique Brass, and Bronze. The Hand Rubbed Antique Brass is a living finish that will patina and warm with age. Dessau is Damp Location rated, so it also works above a bathroom vanity mirror or in a covered entry, and it coordinates with the rest of the Dessau collection — table lamp, floor lamp and linear suspension — for a matched look through a room.
