The taller Dessau. Same Bauhaus-derived geometry — a vertical stem meeting a horizontal arm at a right angle, with the LED recessed into the underside of the arm — but at 46" the head clears a taller chair back or a sofa arm, and the extra height pushes slightly more light into the room. 548 lumens against the 38" model's 462.

The arm reaches 14" from the stem, which puts the light directly over a lap rather than behind your shoulder. Switching is by integrated 3-step touch dimmer on the fixture — tap for low, medium, full. Nothing to wire, nothing to hunt for in the dark.

Three finishes: Nightshade Black (700PRTDES46B-LED927), Polished Nickel (700PRTDES46N-LED927) and Hand Rubbed Antique Brass (700PRTDES46NB-LED927). The brass patinas with handling and warms over time.

The 38" version is 700PRTDES38. Dessau also includes picture lights, table lamps and a linear suspension if you want the language to carry.
