Daylight versus Warm White - Understanding Color Temperature

Your ready to convert all your recessed lights to LED, your contractor says "what color do you want", now what?

Color Temperature of a light source is the temperature of an ideal black-body radiator that radiates light of a color comparable to that of the light source. Kelvin is a unit of measurement used to describe the hue of a specific light source. This is not necessarily related to the heat output of the light source but rather the color of the light output. The higher the Kelvin value of the light source, the closer the light's color output will be to actual sunlight.

So what does this mean in plain English? The lower the kelvin the warmer the light, the higher the kelvin the whiter/cooler the light.
